ABOUT LITTLETON AUCTIONS

Fortnightly sales throughout the year - offering you a local service with a global reach.

In the early 1980's antique dealer and auctioneer Barry Homer opened Bell Court Auctions in Bidford on Avon and the lively local business continued with bi-weekly auctions for nearly twenty years. After Barry's death his son, auctioneer Martin Homer ran the business for over eight years. In 2011 Martin returned to the auction world and launched Littleton Auctions located in the Worcestershire village of Middle Littleton. His mission - to run fortnightly auctions accepting a combination of antique furniture and effects as well as quality modern lots and to provide a local and accessible service to vendors with a global reach for buyers thanks to live online bidding.

Vendors are invited to bring in goods during non-auction weeks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (Thursdays if we're not full) 9 till 5 for acceptance for the following Saturday week sale, we do not accept lots during auction week. Please ring the auction room prior to bringing in so we can advise as to what does and doesn't warrant entry and to confirm we have room. We are always happy to offer free estimates on items and can fix a reserve price on items over the value of £30 if both parties are happy. If you require larger goods to be collected (or delivered) we outsource our transport requirements to 2 local companies who are both very reasonable on price and offer a first rate service, call either Ben on 07796 048 878 or Phil on 07766 293 885 for a free quote. Our commission rates are very competitive at 15% + V.A.T. (minimum of £2.50 + V.A.T.) plus 1% guarantee and a £3 + V.A.T. lotting fee per catalogued item. Vendor's payments become due 11 working days (2 weeks) after the sale by either BACS transfer directly into the clients account or collection of cash from the saleroom (if available - please phone first).

Buying at one of our auctions is simple. On your first visit we will issue you with a unique bidder's number which is free and can be used for future auctions (I.D. required), you can then attend the sale in person, leave a commission bid, or, in special circumstances you may bid by telephone at the time of the sale (conditions apply), you may also bid online via the-saleroom.com. Our buyer's premium is just 15% + V.A.T. on the hammer price (minimum of £2.50 + V.A.T.) or 18% + V.A.T. if you buy online via the-saleroom.com.

Our auctions take place every fortnight at 10am on Saturday mornings and usually finish around 1.30pm - although we are always here till 3pm on sale days. Viewing is strictly on Friday's from 10am to 7pm and from 8.30am on the day.
We have ample parking and our licenced cafe is open for both light refreshments and alcoholic beverages on both viewing and sale days. We also have disabled toilet facilities.
Our office opening times are 9am to 5pm Mondays to Fridays (1pm on Fridays of non-auction week) and we are closed on non-auction Saturdays.
We look forward to greeting you.

When I was moving house I looked for an auction house which would sell all the things I didn't think were worth very much, but that I didn't need any more. I have taken two consignments to Littleton Auctions for two separate sales. Both times I have been bowled over by the friendly, no fuss reception I've had. It's easy to park and drop things off – how they keep track of everything I shall never know, but they do, and lot them up really intelligently. The best of all is the really good prices obtained, even on a snowy Saturday in March, and again a no fuss, accurate record of sale prices and costs, sent promptly on request with a the cheque.

I really can't recommend Littleton Auctions enough for good service and good value. I'm considerably better off for using them
!
